About

Garry Currin works from his home studio on the Takatu Peninsula and has been painting and exhibiting nationally for over 40 years.

Twice a finalist in the bi-annual Lloyd Rees Art Prize in Hobart Tasmania [2015/2017], in Feb 2017, he was part of an international group of invited artists in the PyeongChang Biennale in South Korea.

Known for his large, atmospheric landscapes, he says, “My work is based in the Romantic, the history of the world and a biblical attraction. A random mix of atmospheric force around earth, fire, air and water, the shadows of the day and the light in dark spaces”.
